He travels with an Iraq passport – the least powerful in the world, ranking 176 out of 176 in the Global Passport Index. When I posted on social media that I was coming to Iraqi Kurdistan, Baderkhan immediately reached out and offered to host me for 4 days. We’ve had an incredible time together road tripping around his homeland — which I find to be the hidden gem of the Middle East. This is the story of Baderkhan’s life — as he travels the world on the weakest passport. It makes me feel guilty that I can visit 165 countries without the need to get a visa (compared to only 30 for him), but that only gives him more motivation to keep going and see every country in the world. Many of these small countries don’t actually count how many people come visit. So it’s very hard to really tell which country truly has the least visitors.
