The Singapore Government expects those who can work from home to continue to do so beyond the “circuit breaker” which was implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19 infections, said Trade and Industry Minister Chan Chun Sing on Sunday (May 3). These are part of “safe cohorting measures” which protects business continuity.
In a news conference on Tuesday (Apr 14), Manpower Minister Josephine Teo explained why COVID-19 is spreading quickly through Singapore’s foreign worker dormitories: “Despite the safe distancing measures that were in place then in these dormitories, the virus in the dorms spread through socialising activities – much like it would spread among housemates, friends and also in the community.” She also outlined what’s being done to curb the spread.
