Sky News host Chris Kenny says US President Donald Trump’s latest COVID-19 update is bizarre, very interesting and one which is certainly “worth a look”. President Trump has suggested coronavirus patients be injected with disinfectant as a way to fight the virus. Speaking from the White House podium, Mr Trump said “I see that disinfectant knocks it out in a minute, one minute”. “Is there a way that we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see it gets in the lungs and does a tremendous number,” he said. “It would be interesting to check that. It sounds interesting to me.” “The President was actually reflecting on advice from medical experts who say the virus is very susceptible to heat, light and disinfectant, and he encouraged this continuing medical research on new treatments,” Mr Kenny said. “Which is all fair enough”. “As usual journalists have gone nuts over this, pretending they had no idea of the context”. “But he’d save himself a lot of trouble, I guess, if he left the medical commentary to the experts”.
