Anyone familiar with David Ayer should know that he’s pretty much been using this setting as the backdrop of all his films since Training Day. He actually had a chance to branch out a little in 2014, but after Suicide Squad, he just went back to the setting that he’s the most familiar with, and much to the detriment of his films, because this is just as unoriginal, just as generic and shows a serious lack of growth. After being found and woken up in 2019, Herschel is introduced to his only living relative, his great grandson, Ben Greenbaum. The two then go through a journey of tribulations, learning about family and each other.
