#sethrogen #hbomax #anamericanpickle An American Pickle is a 2020 American comedy-drama film directed by Brandon Trost (in his solo directorial debut) and written by Simon Rich, based on his 2013 short story “Sell Out”.[3] The film stars Seth Rogen as a Jewish immigrant who gets preserved in a vat of pickles and wakes up in modern-day New York City, attempting to fit in with the assistance of his last remaining descendant (also played by Rogen). Sarah Snook also stars. Originally intended to be released by Sony Pictures, the film’s rights were sold to Warner Bros. in April 2020. It was digitally released in the United States on August 6, 2020, the first original film released by HBO Max, and theatrically in several overseas countries. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, with Rogen’s dual performance being praised. An American Pickle starring Seth Rogan, directed by Brandon Trost is a new Crave HBO Max movie. And unfortunately, they are from two people who’s celebrity has long since overshadowed any residual quality they’re capable of with their films, as we have the newest films from David Ayer & Seth Rogen here, The Tax Collector & An American Pickle! The Tax Collector is David Ayer’s latest original tale about a Southern Los Angeles Mexican Crime story. Following Bobby Soto & Shia LaBeauf as tax collectors for their local cartel, they find their whole world turned upside down when a new rival encroaches on their territory. Anyone familiar with David Ayer should know that he’s pretty much been using this setting as the backdrop of all his films since Training Day. He actually had a chance to branch out a little in 2014, but after Suicide Squad, he just went back to the setting that he’s the most familiar with, and much to the detriment of his films, because this is just as unoriginal, just as generic and shows a serious lack of growth. The story is unoriginal, the characters thin and one-note, and the worst part is that it attempts to use violence and shock value to make up for it. An American Pickle [More]

My review of An American Pickle. This movie is exclusively on HBO Max and Stars Seth Rogen as Herschel Greenbaum, a jewish immigrant from Eastern Europe in the year 1919. After getting a job at a pickle factory, Herschel falls into a tub of pickle brine and is left there and preserved for 100 years. After being found and woken up in 2019, Herschel is introduced to his only living relative, his great grandson, Ben Greenbaum. The two then go through a journey of tribulations, learning about family and each other. An American Pickle really showcases Seth Rogen’s acting talent, and he truly becomes the jewish immigrant of Herschel Greenbaum, a role unlike anything Rogan has played before. Seth Rogen leads An American Pickle as not one, but two characters. First we meet Herschel Greenbaum who immigrates to America in 1919. He’s determined to do whatever it takes to make sure his family becomes a success, but then he falls into a pickle vat and winds up being preserved by the brine for 100 years. When he reemerges in the present day, he goes to live with his great grandson, the very tech-savvy Ben, also played by Rogen. Check out this video interview to hear about Rogen’s unique experience making An American Pickle, his insistence on using his real beard to play Herschel, the beep system needed to ensure Ben’s reactions to Herschel were timed properly and more. An American Pickle arrives on HBO Max on August 6th! #SethRogen #AnAmericanPickle #NowStreaming For interviews, movie reviews, and more visit https://collider.com FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL https://twitter.com/collider https://instagram.com/collider https://facebook.com/colliderdotcom
