Australian National University’s Professor Peter Collignon says Australia could “easily get an outbreak” of the deadly coronavirus pandemic in the winter months so that’s why it is crucial to “keep up the physical distancing as much as possible”. Professor Collignon’s comments come as the coronavirus curve has continued to flatten in Australia, however fears have arisen the numbers could jump as strict social distancing measures being to be lifted across the country. He said there isn’t going to be “zero risk” of the virus within Australia “for the next couple of years” and it is better for people to continue to assume COVID-19 will be around “at really low levels”. The professor told Sky News host Chris Kenny it is important “we keep clusters to a minimum” and that we all continue “doing the right thing at least 90 per cent of the time”.
