All schools in Wales will reopen on 29 June, but with staggered class times to ensure only a third of pupils are in school at any one time. The PM has promised all coronavirus tests will be turned around within 24 hours by the end of June Johnson and Sir Keir Starmer clashed over the government’s handling of coronavirus at Prime Minister’s Questions. Alberta’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw gave an update on the most recent numbers of COVID-19 cases in the province Monday and the government’s ongoing response to the pandemic. The province’s top doctor said that 34 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Alberta in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases in the province to 400. She said 6,501 people have now recovered from the virus. As of Monday, there were 53 people in hospital with COVID-19, six of whom were in intensive care units. Hinshaw said no new deaths have been reported. On Sunday, Alberta announced 18 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths. Alberta has a total of 7,010 cases of COVID-19 and 143 deaths as of Monday. British Columbia’s provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix provided an update on the latest COVID-19 cases in the province and discussed the government’s ongoing response to the pandemic on Tuesday. Health officials reported only seven new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., which is the lowest daily number since the province asked that gatherings of more than 250 people be cancelled in a bid to slow the transmission of the coronavirus. There are now 2,360 confirmed cases of he disease in the province. Of those, 1,832 cases have fully recovered. The province also announced one new death, at a long-term care facility in the Fraser Valley, bringing B.C.’s COVID-19 death toll to 131. Sixty-three patients are in hospital, while 16 patients remain in intensive care. Henry said there are no new community outbreaks to report.
