This was a free lawn tractor I got locally without an engine, it was designed to have a 17hp kohler with a rear gas tank using a fuel pump delivery system. I put a 9hp kawasaki engine from a rear engine from a john deere rx75 riding mower on it. It wasnt designed to have a fuel pump and the pulse from the breather wasnt strong enough to deliver gas from the rear all the way to the front. I tried 3 fuel pumps including an electric one…none of them worked well enough to allow the engine to run correctly, either it was starving for fuel or it flooded the carburetor. Converting a rear gas tank lawn tractor to a gravity fed fuel tank required a battery relocation and removing the rear gas tank to accommodate the battery. Many subscribers told me that my initial set up where I simply lowered the battery and put the gas tank directly above it was unsafe. Since I had never removed the rear fenders and relocated battery cables before, I thought it would be an interesting video, so I decided to do what my subscribers want.
