Ontario Premier Doug Ford held a briefing Monday alongside Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Christine Elliot. Ontario reported 326 new cases of novel coronavirus Sunday morning, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 27,859. Nineteen new deaths were also announced, bringing the total fatalities attributed to the virus in the province to 2,266. Ford said on Friday that they are looking at the idea of a regional approach to reopenings, in conjunction with the expanded testing plan announced earlier that day. He said that more testing gives a better scope what’s happening around the province and can help guide what locations could be reopened sooner.
