The Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has said the government’s approach to re-opening schools in England will be cautious and based on scientific advice. But he warned that the longer schools are closed, the more children will miss out. The teaching unions have raised concerns over plans for some primary pupils to return to schools in England from the first of June. They say there is still too little testing and a danger that schools will help spread coronavirus infections.
