Earlier this month the company had cut 3,700 jobs. Over 25 per cent of employees have been laid off and 45 offices have been closed. “I would say 70 per cent of my passengers are in the high tech industry, so that was, everything to me was dependent on them working and they are not working right now,” said an Uber driver Mark. In the meantime and like many other Uber drivers, Mark has begun delivering food, for Uber Eats, which has seen a surge in demand due to COVID lockdowns. He is hopeful however of passengers slowly making a return, saying business is picking up, “people are starting to break loose and hopefully one day we will be back to normal.” Video ID: 20200519-004 Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20200519-004 Contact: cd@ruptly.tv Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly
