U.K. officials provide an update on the country's ongoing measures to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Thursday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating at his Downing Street residence, but said he would still lead the government’s response to the accelerating outbreak

More than 19,000 people in the U.K. have tested positive for COVID-19 and more than 1,200 people have died.

On Sunday, Housing Minister Robert Jenrick spoke about the country’s response to the novel coronavirus pandemic, stating that the U.K. is currently on “emergency footing.”
