U.S. President Donald Trump visited the Ford Rawsonville Components Plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan on Thursday and met with African-American leaders as part of his tour in the facility.
The visit came a day after Trump threatened to withhold federal funds over the state’s expanded vote-by-mail effort.
“We don’t want them to do mail in ballots because it’s going to lead to total election fraud,” Trump said, allowing for some exceptions including himself “Now, if somebody has to mail it in because they’re sick, or by the way because they live in the White House and they have to vote in Florida and they won’t be in Florida. But there’s a reason for it, that’s OK.”
Trump said he may support another fiscal stimulus bill to help prop up the economy during the coronavirus outbreak, though he did not provide any details on what he would like to see in such legislation.
“I think we will. I think we’re going to be helping people out, there could be one more nice shot,” Trump told reporters at a Ford factory.
Trump was not seen wearing a mask while delivering his remarks or talking to reporters, however, he said he did wear a mask while touring some parts of the facility “but didn’t want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it.”
