U.S. President Donald Trump and members of the U.S. coronavirus task force provided an update Monday on the administration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump said some areas hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic appear "to have turned the corner" with death rates down "very, very substantially." He predicted the country would have a "economic resurgence" as states prepared to reopen.

Vice President Mike Pence touted the country's capacity for testing for COVID-19 saying there is "enough testing capacity today for every state in America to go to phase one."

The president also said the U.S. is looking to top up its oil reserves with prices plummeting worldwide.
