Quebec Premier François Legault and health officials provide an update on the province's COVID-19 response plan.

Legault on Thursday urged residents to consider volunteering to help the elderly and other residents who may have difficulty with things like buying groceries during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Two more COVID-19 related deaths were reported Thursday, bringing the total number in the province to six.

As of Thursday afternoon, there were 1,629 COVID-19 cases in Quebec and 43 people remain in intensive care.

Non-essential businesses in Quebec are officially closed until April 13 as the province ramps up the fight against the pandemic.
