Premier François Legault and government officials update the province’s response to COVID-19 pandemic within the province.
The Quebec government confirmed Wednesday that another two people have died as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic, bringing the total number of deaths in the province to six.
As of Wednesday there were 1,339 cases in Quebec, an increase of 326 from the previous day. There are 78 people who have been hospitalized in Quebec due to COVID-19 and 35 people are in intensive care.
Premier François Legault stressed Wednesday that Quebecers must continue to do their part during the novel coronavirus pandemic and continue to stay home.
“The faster we all do our part, the faster we will save lives and win this battle,” Legault said.
Non-essential businesses in Quebec are officially closed until April 13 as the province ramps up the fight against the pandemic.
