Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to hold his daily COVID-19 briefing in Ottawa on Tuesday and will discuss the ongoing government response to the pandemic, including support for agricultural sectors.
The government had been scheduled at the end of March to release its first budget since winning re-election as a minority. But that release was scrapped when the House of Commons suspended on March 13 as part of a nationwide shutdown to try to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Federal ministers and chief medical officer of health Dr. Theresa Tam will speak following Trudeau.
As of Monday, there were 60,772 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Canada, with 3,854 total deaths.
