Ontario’s chief medical officer of health Dr. David Williams and associate chief medical officer of health Dr. Barbara Yaffe provided an update on the latest COVID-19 cases in the province and discussed the province’s ongoing response to the pandemic.
During the briefing, Yaffe announced that as of 4 p.m. on Monday, there were 525 new COVID-19 cases in Ontario, bringing the total number of cases to 15,381. In addition, there have been an additional 59 deaths in the province, which brings the death toll to 951 people.
Tuesday’s report marks a 3.5 per cent increase in cases compared to the day prior (Monday’s report saw 424 new cases). It also marks the highest single-day increase in deaths so far.
