Alberta Premier Jason Kenney, joined by Dr. Deena Hinshaw and AHS CEO Dr. Verna Yiu, provided a provincial update on the COVID-19 situation Wednesday, including the public release of full projections of the pandemic.

Three new COVID-19 fatalities were announced on Wednesday, which brings Alberta’s death toll from the pandemic to 29.

The provincial government said that Alberta has recorded 50 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the total case number to 1,423. Of those cases, 519 people have now recovered.

The premier said 44 people are currently in hospital with COVID-19 in the province, with 16 of those in intensive care.
