The cataclysmic conclusion to the Total War: WARHAMMER trilogy is coming. Rally your forces and step into the Realm of Chaos, a dimension of mind-bending horror where the very fate of the world will be decided. Will you conquer your Daemons… or command them?

This sequel is going to be set around the reign of Karl Franz, just like previous games and the primary source for lore is Warhammer Fantasy Battles 8th Edition, as well as some of the older versions.

The game will contain a wider selection of individual races than any previous Total War: WARHAMMER core title. The staple of this third game in the series will be the four Ruinous Powers of Chaos. Nurgle, the plague god, Slaanesh,the lord of excess, Tzeentch,lord of witchcraft, and Khorne, the god of blood and slaughter, who are all preparing for war from deep within the realms of Chaos.

On the other side are two mighty sentinel kingdoms, the stern warriors of Kislev and the vast empire of Grand Cathay(khatej) which have been expanded by their creators at Games Workshop with whom Creative Assembly has a really close relationship. The nation of Kislev was heavily influenced by Eastern European nations such as Russia, Poland, and Hungary, while the people of Cathay are inspired by the Chinese culture.

There will be nine playable Legendary Lords that will lead these races into battle, and we should see much more details about them as we get closer to the launch day. Having all three of the Warhammer maps in one campaign will be a sort of a DLC for owners of all three games.

The most interesting feature in this game is definitely the fact that players will be able to recruit demons and send their armies into the Realm of Chaos to play a part of their campaign in this nightmarish world.

The making of a monarch
You, as a king, have a personality as well, shaped by your actions and moral choices. The Morality Chart will represent your status between Christianity and Old Faith, between Tyranny and Righteousness. Your choices affect values on this chart, influencing both gameplay and narrative.

The weight of decisions
Every small decision matters – not only the moral choices, but actions taken in the turn-based combat as well. The campaign unfolds with a roguelite twist: no reloads, only regrets! The thrill of dealing with the consequences is half the fun, but your decisions also affect the story. Each playthrough can unfold differently, branching in unexpected ways.

The end is only the beginning
Play through the campaign (once or see multiple paths), and after that, you unlock the endgame, reserved only for the bravest. Tough new challenges appear on the map with mythic bossfights, random quests, more loot and character progression ultimately leading to the banishing of Balor, the monstrous god-king of the Fomorians.
